Super Eagles Draw 1-1 with Bafana Bafana in 2026 World Cup Qualifier

The Super Eagles of Nigeria played to a 1-1 draw against South Africa's Bafana Bafana in a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match.

South Africa took the lead in the 29th minute when Themba Zwane skillfully navigated through the Nigerian defense, slotting the ball past Stanley Nwabali, the Super Eagles' goalkeeper.

Nigeria equalized in the 46th minute with a stunning solo effort from Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, who struck from outside the box.

Despite numerous opportunities to secure a win, the Super Eagles were thwarted by the crossbar and the impressive performance of Ronwen Williams, the South African goalkeeper.

This draw leaves Nigeria winless in their last three qualifying matches, placing them in fifth position and jeopardizing their chances of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
