A five-story building under construction collapsed on Wednesday in Onitsha, Anambra State. Sources reported that the incident occurred around 7:15 am near DMGS Junction, close to the popular Dennis Memorial Grammar School.
Witnesses at the scene observed that the entire structure had crumbled into rubble. One passerby mentioned, "I was going to work this morning when I saw it. The entire building came down in rubbles."
There were no immediate reports of casualties, as it appeared that no work was taking place at the site at the time of the collapse. The cause of the incident has not been determined, but many onlookers speculated that the use of substandard materials might be responsible.
