Adeyanju Condemns Opponents of Nationwide Protest: "Naira's Devaluation Justifies Action"

Human rights activist Deji Adeyanju has voiced strong criticism against those opposing the upcoming nationwide protest in Nigeria. Speaking with Vanguard, Adeyanju emphasized that the drastic devaluation of the Naira, driven by ineffective policies, justifies public demonstrations.

"The Naira is almost worthless due to poor policy decisions," Adeyanju asserted. "With N100,000 now equivalent to what N10,000 used to be, it's clear that the currency's value has plummeted. To suggest that people should refrain from protesting under these conditions is unrealistic and insensitive."

Adeyanju’s comments come in the wake of his earlier assertion that the true forces behind the protest are "hunger, poverty, and corruption." He argues that these factors, exacerbated by governmental mismanagement, have reached a critical point, compelling citizens to take to the streets.

The activist's remarks highlight the urgent need for public discourse and action in the face of economic hardships and systemic issues. As Nigerians prepare for the protest, Adeyanju’s statements underscore the deep-seated frustrations fueling the movement.
