Ali Ndume Criticizes Daniel Bwala's Political Relevance and Trustworthiness

In a recent statement, former Senate Chief Whip Ali Ndume dismissed Daniel Bwala, the former spokesperson for the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, as politically irrelevant. Ndume’s remarks come amid ongoing tensions between him and Bwala, largely stemming from Ndume's criticisms of President Bola Tinubu.

Ndume's comments, made during a press briefing at his residence in Maiduguri, reflect a sharp critique of Bwala's role in Nigerian politics. Ndume expressed concerns about Bwala’s trustworthiness, suggesting that he is only known for his capacity to criticize political opponents rather than contribute constructively to governance. Ndume warned that President Tinubu should exercise caution regarding Bwala's intentions.

The conflict between Ndume and Bwala has been intensifying, particularly over Ndume's allegations that President Tinubu is isolating lawmakers and ministers from engaging with him amid the prevailing economic challenges in Nigeria. Ndume emphasized that Bwala, who previously was associated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) before switching to support Atiku Abubakar, seems to be seeking attention and sympathy rather than offering valuable political insight.

In his comments, Ndume highlighted a mix-up with Bwala's identity, initially confusing him with Inuwa Bwala, a former Caretaker Chairman of Hawul and noted journalist. This confusion underscored Ndume's point about Bwala's lack of political influence in Southern Borno.

The former Senate Chief Whip's critique underscores the ongoing volatility and shifting alliances within Nigerian politics, reflecting the broader dynamics of trust and credibility in the political arena.
