Biden Attributes Debate Struggles to Exhausting Travel Schedule

Joe Biden has offered an explanation for his underwhelming performance during his debate with Donald Trump.

The US President attributed his lack of energy to an exhaustive travel schedule that left him feeling drained and almost falling asleep on the debate stage.

Biden made these remarks on Tuesday, July 2, at a campaign fundraiser in McLean, Virginia, where he cited his extensive travels in the weeks leading up to the debate as the main cause of his fatigue. This included a trip to France in early June for the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

He shared with the attendees, “I decided to travel around the world a couple of times shortly before the debate. I didn't listen to my staff, and then I almost fell asleep on stage.”

Biden detailed his busy itinerary, mentioning his visit to France in early June, a major fundraiser in Los Angeles on June 15, and a week of debate preparation at Camp David before the June 27 debate.

While he emphasized that he was not making excuses, Biden apologized for his debate performance and underscored the importance of defeating Trump in the upcoming election.
