The Uwheru Community bridge, located along the East-West road in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, has collapsed.
Initial reports indicate that the cause of the collapse remains unclear at this time. According to local sources, passengers and transporters traveling from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and other regions in the Niger Delta have been significantly impacted. They are now forced to navigate a single lane as the collapsed section of the road remains impassable.
Drivers and community members have urgently appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Federal Government to address the situation. They are calling for immediate repair of the road to restore full access and ensure safety for travelers in the region.
