Daddy Freeze has responded to the Court of Appeal's decision in Port Harcourt, which upheld a fine imposed on him for "committing adultery."
The media personality denied the allegations, stating on Instagram, "I am innocent. I did not do it." He further criticized the spread of misinformation, urging people to do better.
In a post directed at his wife's ex-husband, Daddy Freeze shared affectionate clips of himself and Benedicta Elechi, captioning it, "#PepperDem @tastebudzng love always wins." He challenged his critics to ask Elechi's ex-husband why she left him.
Despite the court's ruling to pay a fine of N5 million, Daddy Freeze insisted on his innocence. During an Instagram live session, he declared, "I’ve never slept with any man’s wife before. I’m not guilty of any adultery.” He added that while he wouldn't pay the fine, he could donate N5 million to those in need.
Freeze reiterated his innocence, mentioning that the issue occurred over 12 years ago. "My watches alone cost over 100 million naira, but I am innocent, and I will not lose," he stated.
In a 2018 interview with Linda Ikeji's blog, Benedicta Elechi, now married to Daddy Freeze and sharing a son with him, denied committing adultery while still married to her ex-husband Paul Odekina. She claimed she filed for divorce due to his "sexual perversion" and that they had only been intimate eleven times in 10 years. She also alleged catching him in the act of gay sex.
In 2021, Elechi accused her ex-husband of battery, sharing a medical report from 2014 as evidence.
Previously, the High Court of Rivers State ordered Daddy Freeze to pay N5 million for adultery with Elechi. The court's decision included damages for Paul Odekina, who was married to Elechi at the time. The court also dissolved the marriage between Paul and Benedicta due to her adulterous acts with Daddy Freeze.
Unsatisfied with the High Court’s ruling, Daddy Freeze appealed for redress, but the Appeal Court has now upheld the N5 million fine.
