On July 28th, 2024, during a pivotal Townhall Meeting, a heartfelt poem was presented to His Excellency Mazi Simon Ekpa, the Prime Minister of the United States of Biafra. The poem, titled "Movement of the New Sun," captures the essence of Biafra’s enduring spirit and the aspirations of its people.
Biafra Poem
We call to our ancestors, brethren, friends
As we go forth and undo Nigeria’s sins
Biafra comes forth to refresh and redo
We will create a new cultural milieu
3 years and Millions of lives lost in the struggle, but not forgotten, and not forlorn
1967 - The spiritual leader Gen. Ojukwu stepped forth
And declared Biafra’s independence to begin the reform from a forced country destined to be war-torn
No longer shall we placate the structure that maims us
And so IPOB was born from the mind of Spiritual Leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
He speaks to a nation who’s name we do not recognize
“No victor, no vanquished”
No morals, no anguish for the ways it has let its people down
What is it when one cannot see the past and what it is?
And cannot see the future or what it brings?
Today is a state of disunion and disillusion
“Ji siike!”
We call on each other as our chests rise and fall
We’re galvanized by The Finisher - H.E. Mazi Simon Ekpa keeping the flame of the movement alive to light the way
For ndi Biafra - the pride of our Land of the Rising Sun
We awaken and prepare for a new day
