Victony Brushes Off Pressure to Compete with Peers: A Look at His Stance on Fame and Success

Nigerian singer Victony has made it clear that he's not feeling the pressure to match the fame of his peers, Rema and Asake. In response to social media criticism suggesting that his debut album Stubborn fell short commercially due to a lack of negative feedback, Victony labeled such claims as “dumb.” He argued that the expectations placed on his album were unrealistic given his current standing in the industry.

Taking to X, Victony expressed his frustration, saying, “Lmao, Victony need more haters gotta be the dumbest sh*t I seen cos what’s the rush? Everyone wanna be Rema and Asake in 2 hours?” His response underscores his belief in a more measured approach to success and fame, dismissing the notion that he needs to compete on the same timeline as his fellow artists.
