Donald Trump Accuses Mark Zuckerberg of Election Meddling in New Book

Former President Donald Trump has made bold claims against Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg in his upcoming book, Saving America. According to a report by Politico, Trump accuses Zuckerberg of attempting to manipulate the 2020 presidential election in favor of Joe Biden. The book contains a stark warning from Trump that Zuckerberg would “spend the rest of his life in prison” if he engages in any illegal activities in future elections.

Saving America, set for release next week, includes a photo of Zuckerberg and Trump during a meeting at the White House. In a caption beneath the photo, Trump describes Zuckerberg’s visits to the Oval Office, accompanied by his wife, Priscilla Chan, where he was "as nice as anyone could be," while allegedly "plotting" to interfere with the election using "shameful Lock Boxes." Trump further states, “We are watching him closely, and if he does anything illegal this time he will spend the rest of his life in prison — as will others who cheat in the 2024 Presidential Election.”

Trump's allegations relate to a conspiracy theory suggesting that Zuckerberg and Chan used a $350 million investment through the Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL), a nonprofit organization, to influence the 2020 election outcome. CTCL was involved in providing election resources to precincts during the COVID-19 pandemic, which some Trump supporters claimed unfairly favored Biden.

In a June 2021 interview with Fox Business, Trump falsely asserted that he had won the 2020 election and accused Democrats, Facebook, and Zuckerberg of cheating. He claimed Zuckerberg had contributed $500 million to fund “phony lockboxes” where the votes allegedly favored Biden at a suspiciously high rate of 96%.

These unfounded accusations reflect Trump's ongoing claims of election fraud, despite multiple court rulings and audits confirming the legitimacy of the 2020 election results.
