Florida Mother Arrested for Alleged Child Abuse After Involvement in Daughter's Fight at Bus Stop

A Florida mother, Kathryn Stephanopoulos, has been arrested and charged with child abuse following her alleged involvement in a fight between her teenage daughter and another girl at a bus stop. The incident, which was captured on video and has since gone viral, shows Stephanopoulos, 34, stepping into the altercation and allegedly aiding her daughter instead of stopping the fight.

In the video, Stephanopoulos can be seen intervening as her daughter and another teenager engage in a physical altercation. Rather than breaking up the fight, she is accused of putting her daughter’s opponent in a headlock, allowing her daughter to continue throwing punches. The situation escalated further when a bystander intervened, pulling Stephanopoulos away from the other girl. The chaotic scene continued, with Stephanopoulos reportedly being struck with a Stanley cup amid the commotion.

The conflict between the two teenagers had reportedly been building over the summer, culminating in the confrontation when school resumed. Stephanopoulos’ daughter allegedly informed her mother about the planned altercation at the bus stop, leading to her mother’s involvement.

Stephanopoulos was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse and was later released on a $1,000 bond. According to police, she has since expressed regret for her actions during the fight.

The other teenager involved in the fight has been arrested and charged with felony aggravated battery, while Stephanopoulos’ daughter is reportedly facing potential misdemeanor charges related to the incident.
