President Joe Biden Takes Break at Delaware Beach Amidst Vacation and Political Tensions

US President Joe Biden was photographed enjoying a day at the beach in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware on Wednesday, August 28, marking his second consecutive week away from the White House.

The 81-year-old President, accompanied by First Lady Jill Biden and her two sisters, spent approximately two hours relaxing on the North Shores. Dressed in colorful swim trunks, a white T-shirt, and a black cap, Biden was seen sitting on a beach chair, occasionally reviewing documents.

This extended break comes nearly 10 days after Biden left the White House on August 19, initially heading to the Democratic National Convention where he delivered a significant address endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris as the party’s nominee. Biden chose not to remain in Chicago for the full duration of the convention, instead traveling to California to stay at a $37 million estate owned by Joe Kiani, CEO of the medical technology firm Masimo. The vacation at Kiani's estate concluded on Sunday, leading Biden to his Rehoboth Beach home where he is expected to stay until Friday, according to the White House schedule.

Amid his low-profile vacation, reports suggest Biden’s public retreat may also be influenced by his frustration with some Democrats who have expressed opposition to him, including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. In an interview with “CBS News Sunday Morning” earlier this month, Biden reflected on his concerns about potential political distractions if he remained in the race.

For more on Biden's vacation and current political dynamics, stay tuned.
