Simon Ekpa Warns of Retaliation After Reports of Violence in Enugu: "Biafra Forces Will Strike Back"

Simon Ekpa, the Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile, has issued a stark warning following reports of violence in Enugu State. In a fiery statement, Ekpa dismissed claims about the existence of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), labeling them as propaganda by the Nigerian government. He asserted that the Biafra Liberation Army (BLA), Biafra Resistance Fighters, and the Biafra Navy in Bakassi remain fully operational, with none of their fighters missing.

Ekpa's statement was particularly pointed in its tone, suggesting that any harm done to innocent Biafrans under the guise of targeting non-existent ESN members would be met with severe retaliation. He accused the Nigerian government of attempting to fabricate a narrative that justifies the killing of Biafrans, stating that the government’s forces are even mistakenly engaging each other, believing they are fighting the ESN.

The message underscored Ekpa's resolve, as he promised a thorough investigation into the events in Enugu. He warned that if it was confirmed that innocent Biafrans were indeed killed, the response from Biafran forces would be swift and brutal. Ekpa's rhetoric emphasizes the fragile situation in the region, where tensions between secessionist movements and the Nigerian state continue to escalate.

While the authenticity of Ekpa's claims and the actual presence of these Biafran forces remain disputed, his statement has nevertheless stirred significant concern. His threat of retaliation could further destabilize an already tense situation, raising fears of potential violence in the days to come. The situation in Enugu and the broader region will undoubtedly be closely monitored as the Biafra Republic Government in Exile and the Nigerian state continue their fraught standoff.
