Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors have reached an agreement on a one-year contract extension for the 2026-27 NBA season, securing the star point guard nearly $63 million for that year. The deal, confirmed by Curry's agent Jeff Austin of Octagon, was initially reported by ESPN and marks the maximum amount allowed by league rules.
With this extension, Curry is now guaranteed approximately $178 million over the next three seasons. His earnings break down to about $55.8 million for the upcoming 2024-25 season, $59.6 million for 2025-26, and $62.6 million for 2026-27. By the end of this contract, Curry’s career on-court earnings will total approximately $532 million, making him the second-highest earner in NBA history behind LeBron James, whose career earnings stand at around $580 million.
Curry, 36, is set to enter his 16th NBA season, all of which he has spent with the Warriors. A 10-time All-Star and two-time MVP, Curry has played a pivotal role in Golden State’s success, contributing to four NBA championships. His accolades extend beyond the NBA; he recently showcased his remarkable skills on the international stage, helping Team USA secure a gold medal at the Paris Olympics this summer with a standout performance in the final against France.
Last season, Curry averaged 26.4 points per game for the Warriors and has maintained a career average of 24.8 points in regular-season play. As the NBA’s all-time leader in three-pointers made, Curry continues to be a transformative figure in the league, both on and off the court.
