Hezbollah's Acting Leader Issues Dire Threat to Israel Amid Escalating Conflict

Hezbollah's acting leader, Sheikh Naim Kassem, has issued a stark warning to Israel as the conflict between the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the militant group intensifies. Kassem, who assumed leadership after the assassination of Hezbollah's former leader Hassan Nasrallah in a September 27 airstrike, made the declaration in a televised statement today.

Kassem warned that more Israelis would be displaced as Hezbollah continues to launch rockets deeper into Israeli territory. Despite the heavy toll inflicted by IDF airstrikes and other attacks, he insisted that Hezbollah's operational strength remains intact.

“We are firing hundreds of rockets and dozens of drones. A large number of settlements and cities are under the fire of the resistance,” Kassem said, emphasizing that Hezbollah’s fighters are stationed along the front lines. He also reassured supporters that the group’s leadership and fighting capabilities are still robust, noting that Hezbollah's top commanders have been swiftly replaced, with no vacant leadership roles left open despite recent losses.

Hezbollah's acting leader further stated that while the group plans to appoint a new leader to succeed Nasrallah, the ongoing war has complicated the process.

Today, the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel reached a new level of intensity, with Hezbollah claiming responsibility for launching a massive barrage of 85 projectiles targeting the northern Israeli city of Haifa. The IDF confirmed that it intercepted most of the incoming missiles as they crossed the border.

In a retaliatory move, the IDF launched a strike in Beirut, killing a senior Hezbollah commander, Suhail Husseini. The Israeli military identified Husseini as a key figure responsible for the group’s logistics, budgeting, and overall management.

The situation remains tense, with both sides continuing to engage in heavy cross-border fire as the conflict escalates further.
