Rapper Blueface has broken his silence for the first time since receiving his prison sentence. During a call from prison on Monday, August 19, he spoke with DJ Hed and Gina Views on the "Effective Immediately" radio show, shedding light on his current situation and how he's coping behind bars.
Blueface clarified that he was sentenced to four years in prison but has already received credit for one year served. He mentioned that he must serve at least 33% of his sentence to be eligible for release, estimating that he could be out by March or April 2025.
Describing his time in prison as "a little break from responsibility," Blueface shared how he's been spending his days. "I’m chilling, man. I’m in my environment," he said. "It’s like a little break from responsibility. I’m like 180 [lbs] right now. I’ve never been 180 before. I’m getting sized up, I’m about to bounce out looking like a Dalmatian."
He humorously detailed his routine, saying, "I be j**king off, watching TV, eating burritos, and using the phone. That’s pretty much it … They only got like 12 channels. I’ve been watching a lot of the news, the Sherri show, and The Jennifer Hudson Show."
Blueface has been incarcerated since his arrest in January for violating the terms of his probation, which stemmed from an alleged assault on a bouncer at a Las Vegas strip club in 2021. Although he initially avoided prison with a suspended sentence, a recent ruling found that he violated his probation after being caught with drug paraphernalia.
Despite his current situation, Blueface remains focused on unresolved matters outside of prison, particularly his ongoing beef with fellow rappers Soulja Boy and NLE Choppa. Before his incarceration, Blueface and Choppa had discussed a potential boxing match, but negotiations fell through. "Soulja Boy promised me a fade so whatever’s clever, the fastest way we can do it. I’m still on that," Blueface stated. "I think NLE owes me one, too. I’ve seen him out there popping it."
Blueface's interview provided a rare glimpse into his life behind bars and his mindset as he navigates his time in prison. Fans will be watching closely to see how his situation unfolds and whether he follows through on his plans once released.
