Nigerian social media personality and crossdresser, Bobrisky, has turned to faith as reports of bribery allegations involving him and operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) continue to make headlines.
The controversy began on Tuesday, September 24, when social activist Very Dark Man (VDM) released an alleged audio recording of Bobrisky discussing a payment of N15 million to EFCC operatives. The payment was reportedly made to drop money laundering charges against him.
The recording was shared by a U.S.-based man who claimed that Bobrisky owed him four million Naira. After the crossdresser allegedly failed to repay the loan following his release from jail, the man sent the audio to VDM, who posted it on Instagram.
Bobrisky has since denied the allegations, claiming that the audio is fabricated. Meanwhile, the EFCC boss has launched an investigation into the matter and invited both Bobrisky and VDM for questioning.
In the midst of the controversy, Bobrisky took to Instagram Stories to share a Bible verse, seeking refuge and comfort in God. The post suggests that he is relying on his faith to find peace during this challenging time.
