Activist and politician Omoyele Sowore has announced his release following a brief arrest by the Department of State Services (DSS) upon his return to Nigeria on Sunday morning, September 15.
Sowore, the convener of the "Revolution Now" movement, shared news of his arrest through a post on X (formerly Twitter). About 20 minutes later, he posted an update confirming that he had been set free.
In his statement, Sowore wrote, "I have just been released by the Nigerian Immigration after a brief detention, and my passport has been returned to me. #RevolutionNow."
This incident marks another interaction between Sowore and Nigerian authorities, following his previous activism and political engagements.
