President Tinubu Plans Cabinet Reshuffle to Enhance Governance

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced plans to reshuffle his cabinet, signaling a potential change in how his administration governs. This announcement came during a press conference at the State House in Abuja on Wednesday, September 24.

Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, expressed concerns that despite significant efforts by the government, many Nigerians are unaware of the progress being made. He urged current Ministers to be more proactive in engaging with the media, emphasizing that transparency and public communication are essential for building trust and accountability.

Onanuga stated, “The President has expressed his desire to reshuffle his cabinet and he will do it. I don’t know whether he wants to do it before October 1, but he will surely proceed with it. That is what I can say, but he has not provided a specific timeline.”

He also revealed that the President directed all Ministers during the last Federal Executive Council meeting to actively share information about the administration's activities. “Some of them have been media shy, and he wants them to overcome that,” Onanuga added.

He noted the perception that the government is not doing enough, despite its considerable efforts, and encouraged Ministers to promote their work more effectively. “They should go out there and talk about what their ministries have been doing,” he concluded.
