A fire broke out at a filling station on Agbani Road, Enugu, early this morning, Friday, September 20, 2024. Thanks to the swift response of both federal and state fire services, the blaze was quickly contained.
While no lives were lost, three vehicles waiting in line to purchase fuel were damaged in the fire. Police have since restored order at the scene.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been caused by a fuel leak from one of the vehicles refueling at the station.
Enugu's Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, personally visited the scene and has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), to launch a full-scale investigation into the incident.
