A group of 250 Ukrainian military instructors has reportedly arrived in Idlib province, northern Syria, to train members of the militant group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in drone production and modernization, according to a source quoted by a Russian state-owned newspaper. The instructors are allegedly stationed at facilities in the city of Idlib and the Jisir al-Shughur region.
The source claimed that these instructors are providing specialized training in the development and enhancement of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). It was further reported that over 250 UAVs have already been delivered to HTS, disguised as civilian goods.
In addition, the Syrian newspaper Al Watan reported that Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine's intelligence services, has been in frequent contact with HTS leader, aiming to recruit militants to fight alongside Ukrainian forces.
