Social critic Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, is set to appear before the House of Representatives' investigation panel on Monday, September 30, following his recent bribery allegations against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Last week, VeryDarkMan released an audio clip in which crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, allegedly claimed to have bribed EFCC officials with N15 million to have money laundering charges dropped. In the same clip, Bobrisky reportedly stated that he served his six-month jail term in a private apartment arranged by his "Godfather" rather than in Kirikiri prison as ordered by the court.
The serious nature of the claims prompted the House of Representatives to summon VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky, and EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede as part of a probe into the matter.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Deji Adeyanju, counsel to VeryDarkMan, confirmed his client's attendance at the National Assembly for the investigation. Adeyanju wrote, "We will be at the National Assembly tomorrow with our client @thatverydarkman to assist in investigations into allegations by Bobrisky that he/she paid N15m to have money laundering charges dropped by EFCC and also bribed prison officials to stay in an apartment."
The investigation has attracted significant public interest, with many awaiting the outcome of the inquiry.
