Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has voiced his disappointment after meeting with Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, during a visit to Edo State.
The meeting took place over the weekend while Obi was in Benin City to support the Labour Party's gubernatorial candidate, Olumide Akpata. Portable, who was also in Edo for a show, encountered Obi and was seen greeting him respectfully in a video that has since gone viral on social media.
Despite the warm greeting, Portable later expressed his frustration in a separate video, complaining that Obi did not offer him any money during their encounter. Comparing the Labour Party candidate to President Bola Tinubu, Portable told his team, "Obi cannot give us anything. Obi didn’t give us anything. If it was Tinubu we met, he would have given us something. Let’s go."
The videos of the interaction have sparked various reactions online, with many viewers commenting on Portable's remarks.
