Social critic Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has issued an apology to prominent human rights lawyer Femi Falana, SAN, following allegations of bribery.
The controversy began when VDM shared an audio recording allegedly involving crossdresser Bobrisky, in which it was claimed that Falana was working to help secure a presidential pardon for Bobrisky in exchange for ₦10 million. This prompted Falana and his son, rapper Falz, to threaten legal action for defamation of character.
Appearing before the House of Representatives Joint Committee on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions on Monday, VDM clarified that he did not believe Falana had any involvement in the alleged bribery scheme involving Bobrisky, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS).
In his remarks, VDM expressed regret and offered a public apology to Falana for any damage his comments may have caused to the senior lawyer’s reputation.
