Super Falcons star Ashleigh Plumptre has expressed her joy after making a return to the pitch following a lengthy injury absence. Plumptre had been out of action for around six months due to surgery but made her comeback during Al-Ittihad's 1-0 victory over Al-Ula last weekend.
The 26-year-old defender entered the match as a second-half substitute, helping her team secure the win and maintain a clean sheet. After the game, Plumptre took to social media to express her excitement and gratitude to Al-Ittihad fans.
“Hey, Etihad fans! I’m so happy to be back. Even happier with the win and the clean sheet. Thanks for all your support,” she said in a post-match video.
Her return is a positive boost for both Al-Ittihad and her fans as she looks to regain full match fitness.
