Davido Set to Release New Single "Awuke" Featuring YG Marley on October 31

Nigerian music superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is gearing up to release his highly anticipated new single titled "Awuke" on October 31. This track will feature YG Marley, an American singer and the son of renowned rapper and singer Lauryn Hill and former NFL player Rohan Marley, as well as the grandson of reggae legend Bob Marley.

Davido announced the release date in an Instagram post on Tuesday, stating, “’Awuke’ with YG Marley drops on October 31st. Get ready for the motion.” The acclaimed artist has been teasing the project for several weeks, including mentions during Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day celebrations and at Lauryn Hill’s concert in Paris.

"Awuke" marks Davido's first single of the year, following a string of successful projects. He first gained fame in 2012 with his hit song "Dami Duro," part of his debut album "Omo Baba Olowo." Since then, he has released three additional albums: "A Good Time" (2019), "A Better Time" (2020), and "Timeless" (2023).

In addition to his musical achievements, Davido is the founder of DMW (Davido Music Worldwide), a record label established in April 2016 that has launched the careers of several notable artists, including Mayorkun, Peruzzi, and Dremo. Earlier this year, he rebranded the label as DMW 2.0 and introduced two new artists.

With numerous awards and accolades to his name, Davido continues to be recognized as one of Africa's leading musical talents. Fans eagerly await the release of "Awuke" and the fresh sounds it promises to deliver.
