Donald Trump Pledges to Broker Peace in Ukraine if Elected

During a recent rally in Nevada, former U.S. President Donald Trump announced his commitment to immediately address the ongoing war in Ukraine if re-elected. Trump, addressing his supporters, vowed to call Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on election night, November 5, with the goal of ending the conflict swiftly.

“I’ll call Putin. I’ll call Zelensky,” Trump said, explaining his plan to begin negotiations even before the formal inauguration. "I’m going to try and get it done as president-elect,” he affirmed, promising to bring credibility to the table and avoid waiting until January 20th to initiate peace talks.

Trump has previously claimed that he could resolve the Russia-Ukraine war in one day, attributing this confidence to his “very good relationship” with Zelensky, whom he met in New York last month. His interactions with Putin also continue, as Trump has reportedly spoken with the Russian leader several times since leaving office, as noted by journalist Bob Woodward.

Trump expressed regret over the current situation, asserting, “Zero chance that Putin would have gone into Ukraine if I were president.” He described the conflict as avoidable and reiterated his intent to prioritize peace as part of his campaign platform.
