Eleven Hospitalized in Pennsylvania After Consuming Toxic Mushrooms

 

Eleven children and adults were hospitalized on Friday night in Peach Bottom Township, Pennsylvania, after consuming toxic mushrooms, local authorities reported.

Emergency medical teams responded to a call around 9:30 PM, where it was reported that 11 individuals had fallen ill after ingesting the mushrooms. The Delta-Cardiff Volunteer Company (Station 57) described the situation on social media as a "mass casualty" event, leading to the deployment of emergency units from York, Lancaster, and Harford counties.

Fire Chief Laura Taylor confirmed that all affected individuals were taken to the hospital in stable condition. The Pennsylvania State Police were also present at the residence where the incident occurred.

Peach Bottom Township, located near the Maryland state line, lies about 56 miles southeast of Harrisburg, the capital of Pennsylvania.
