Elon Musk’s Mother Accused of Encouraging Voter Fraud on Social Media

Maye Musk, the mother of tech billionaire Elon Musk, has stirred controversy by allegedly promoting voter fraud on her son's social media platform, X (formerly known as Twitter). In a post that has since been flagged, the 76-year-old made comments suggesting that people could manipulate the voting system.

The situation began when Elon Musk urged his followers to encourage friends and family to register to vote, calling it "super important." In response, Maye Musk shockingly suggested a different tactic, writing, "The Democrats have given us another option. You don’t have to register to vote. On Election Day, have 10 fake names, go to 10 polling booths and vote 10 times. That’s 100 votes, and it’s not illegal. Maybe we should work the system too."

Her message, viewed over 6.6 million times by Monday morning, was quickly flagged by the platform. A community note attached to the post stated, "This is, in fact, illegal," and provided a link to the U.S. Code, clarifying that voting multiple times is a federal offense.

Maye Musk's comments were met with immediate backlash, especially from legal experts. Several lawyers pointed out that encouraging voter fraud is illegal, and one warned her that her tweet could be seen as a solicitation of a crime. Another emphasized that she could face charges if anyone acted on her suggestion, urging her to retract the post.

Social media users also reacted strongly, with some even tagging the FBI, calling for an investigation into the incident.

This controversy arises shortly after Elon Musk, a vocal supporter of Donald Trump, attended a rally with the former U.S. president.
