Billionaire Elon Musk’s friendship with music mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has come under scrutiny after Musk raised questions about the music and entertainment industry's awareness of Combs’ alleged sexual abuse history.
Following a report revealing over a hundred claims of sexual abuse against Combs, including an accusation of abusing a nine-year-old boy, Musk reacted on social media, asking, “How many people in music & entertainment knew about this?”
Social media users were quick to highlight Musk's personal connection with Combs, pointing out past instances where Musk boasted about their friendship. In the book Character Limit, authors Kate Conger and Ryan Mac recount how Musk reportedly mentioned his close relationship with Combs to Revolt CEO Detavio Samuels during a discussion about racism on Musk's platform, X (formerly Twitter).
According to the authors, Musk told Samuels, "I don’t know if you know this, but Puff is an investor in Twitter. He’s a good friend of mine. We text a lot."
As the allegations against Combs continue to emerge, attention is shifting to those in the industry, including Musk, who may have been aware of the controversial figure’s alleged actions.
