The actress had shared photos of herself dressed in green and white to mark Nigeria's Independence Day, calling on Nigerians to reflect on the country's progress despite its challenges.
In her caption, Badmus encouraged people to celebrate the "special day" and acknowledge how far the nation has come since gaining independence. However, her post received backlash from several followers, with some accusing her of digitally altering her photos and others criticizing her support for the current government amid ongoing economic difficulties.
One particularly harsh comment read: "May Nigeria happen to you. May your life devalue speedily like the Naira you said is gaining strength. May the situation of Nigeria be your lot. Say a loud Amen!"
Badmus, clearly offended, did not hold back in her response, replying: "Same to you and your entire household plus your unborn children." She also addressed a few other critics who had left negative remarks, defending herself against their attacks.
