Football Association in Advanced Talks to Appoint Thomas Tuchel as England Coach

The Football Association (FA) is reportedly close to appointing Thomas Tuchel as the new head coach of the England national football team. The former Chelsea manager is currently in advanced negotiations with the FA to succeed Gareth Southgate, who resigned following England's performance at Euro 2024.

While an official agreement has yet to be reached, discussions are ongoing, and the FA is optimistic about finalizing the appointment within the next 24 hours. If appointed, Tuchel, 51, would be the third foreign manager to lead the Three Lions, following in the footsteps of Sven-Goran Eriksson and Fabio Capello.

Tuchel has been without a managerial position since leaving Bayern Munich last summer. He is widely respected in the football community for his ability to work effectively with top players.

In the interim, current caretaker manager Lee Carsley is expected to remain in charge for the upcoming Nations League matches next month. With the World Cup draw scheduled for December 13, the new head coach will be tasked with preparing the team for the qualifying fixtures ahead.
