Former Super Eagles Star Brown Ideye Set to Join Rivers United

Former Super Eagles forward Brown Ideye is on the verge of joining Rivers United in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). The 36-year-old player was recently spotted training with the club, sparking excitement among fans and officials.

Ideye last played for Kuwaiti club Al-Yarmouk before considering a return to Nigeria. Rivers United head coach Finidi George expressed enthusiasm about the potential signing, stating, "There is every likelihood that he’ll join us. He wants to give back, that’s the most important thing."

Finidi noted Ideye's eagerness to contribute to the team, drawing parallels to other seasoned players like Ahmed Musa. "He has that hunger, and if he’s willing to do that, I think we’ll welcome him," he added.

Throughout his career, Ideye has played for various clubs across Europe, including stints in France, Ukraine, England, Greece, and Switzerland. His extensive experience and leadership on the field are expected to be valuable assets for Rivers United as they aim for success in the upcoming season.
