Joe Rogan Reveals Ongoing Negotiations for Kamala Harris Podcast Interview, Declines Proposed Conditions

Popular podcaster Joe Rogan shared that discussions with Kamala Harris's campaign over a potential interview are still ongoing. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Rogan stated he declined initial conditions set by Harris’s campaign, which included traveling to her location and limiting the interview to one hour.

Rogan, known for his candid, long-form interviews on The Joe Rogan Experience, expressed his preference for hosting Harris in his Austin studio, saying, “I just want to have a relaxed conversation and get to know her as a person.” His podcast has become a key platform for political figures reaching younger, often media-skeptical voters—many of whom are crucial demographics for both Harris and Donald Trump in the run-up to the November 5 election.

On Tuesday, it was reported that JD Vance, Trump’s running mate, planned to join Rogan for an interview the next day. Trump’s recent appearance on Rogan’s podcast gathered over 36 million views on YouTube, covering topics from income tax elimination to extraterrestrial life and included praise for Confederate general Robert E. Lee.

Harris’s campaign previously indicated she might not be able to participate due to the scheduling demands of the election period. Rogan, however, hopes the conversation will still happen, stating, “I would try to have a conversation with her. I think we’d have a fine conversation.”

The Harris campaign sees this potential podcast appearance as an opportunity to bolster support among younger voters, where recent polling has shown unexpected Democratic struggles. Harris is instead prioritizing interviews with battleground media outlets in Detroit, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh, and a Spanish-language station in Pennsylvania to reach Latino voters.

Democratic strategist Hank Sheinkopf suggested Harris focus on her current plans rather than engaging with Rogan’s audience, commenting, “She doesn’t gain anything talking with people on the right.”
