Kamala Harris Warns of Danger to Democracy in Potential Second Trump Term

Kamala Harris has intensified her warnings about a second Trump presidency, calling it "a huge risk for America" after Donald Trump suggested using the military against political opponents he labeled as "the enemy within." Harris, speaking at a rally in Pennsylvania, emphasized that Trump's increasingly extreme rhetoric posed a grave threat to the nation's democracy.

During her speech, Harris played clips of Trump describing domestic opponents as more dangerous than foreign threats. This language has sparked widespread concern, particularly after Trump repeated the phrase during a rally in California, where he also singled out Congressman Adam Schiff, who is running for the U.S. Senate.

In a Fox News interview, Trump further escalated his rhetoric, suggesting that the military should be deployed against those he accused of planning to create "chaos" during the upcoming presidential election.

“A second Trump term would be a huge risk for America, and dangerous. Donald Trump is increasingly unstable and unhinged,” Harris declared, reiterating her belief that Trump’s views toward his political adversaries make him a significant danger to the nation.

Harris’s campaign also released a new advertisement titled The Enemy Within, which features Trump's alarming comments and statements from two former members of his administration warning about the consequences of his return to power. Olivia Troye, a former national security adviser, and Kevin Carroll, a former senior counsel at the Department of Homeland Security, both appeared in the ad, with Troye recalling a moment when Trump allegedly suggested shooting people in the streets during his presidency.

Harris’s campaign is positioning this message as part of a broader effort to counter Trump's authoritarian tone, which has grown increasingly sharp in recent weeks. Trump has also attacked Harris personally, calling her “mentally impaired” and using offensive language in reference to her at Republican events.

Harris's push comes as Trump has avoided interviews with mainstream media outlets, instead opting for friendly interviews with right-wing hosts. Meanwhile, Harris is set for a Fox News interview, signaling her readiness to engage with wider audiences as the election approaches.
