Lionel Messi Reflects on Career Nearing End

 

Argentina captain Lionel Messi has acknowledged that he is approaching the conclusion of his professional football career. Currently playing for Inter Miami, the 37-year-old forward holds the record for the most trophies won in football history, with an impressive total of 45.

In an interview with Marca on Thursday, Messi expressed his awareness of the end of his playing days, stating, “The end is near, and I’m enjoying and valuing every moment as much as possible.” He emphasized that both Argentina and Barcelona are his homes, and he is currently in a place where he feels very happy, describing this phase of his life as a "new stage."

Throughout his career, Messi has achieved remarkable success, including winning the FIFA World Cup and the Copa America in recent editions. He previously played for renowned clubs like Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain and has been awarded the Ballon d’Or eight times, solidifying his status as one of the greatest footballers in history.
