Miami Beach Officials Consider Revoking Diddy’s Key to the City Amid Legal Troubles

Miami Beach city officials are reportedly moving to revoke Sean 'Diddy' Combs' key to the city following his recent arrest in New York City on charges of alleged sex trafficking and racketeering. According to TMZ, sources familiar with the situation indicate that negotiations for this action are in their final stages, although the exact timing remains uncertain due to Hurricane Milton approaching Florida, which could cause delays.

Diddy was awarded the honorary key by former Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine in 2015 during the Revolt Music Conference at the Fontainebleau Hotel. He is among several celebrities who have received this honor, including Jennifer Lopez and DJ Khaled.

This wouldn't be the first time Diddy has had an honorary key rescinded. Earlier this year, after footage surfaced showing him assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie in 2016, New York City Mayor Eric Adams condemned his actions. Adams had personally presented Diddy with a key in 2023, stating, “I strongly condemn these actions and stand in solidarity with all survivors of domestic and gender-based violence.”

Diddy has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him and remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn while awaiting trial. His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, confirmed that Diddy intends to fight the charges in court and will not accept a plea deal.
