Tim Walz Critiques Elon Musk's $1 Million Giveaway for Trump Support

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who is also the Democratic vice-presidential candidate, criticized Elon Musk's recent initiative to give away $1 million a day to voters supporting Donald Trump. During an appearance on ABC's The View, Walz described the giveaway as a sign of a campaign lacking direction.

Musk's plan allows registered voters in key swing states to enter a daily $1 million drawing if they sign petitions from Musk's Super PAC advocating for “free speech and the right to bear arms.” Legal experts have raised concerns about the potential legality of this strategy, suggesting it might equate to vote-buying.

Walz remarked, "I think that’s what you do when you have no plan for the public," pointing out the absence of comprehensive strategies from the Trump campaign on vital issues. He emphasized the lack of an economic plan for the middle class, protections for reproductive rights, and a strategy to combat climate change. "You go to these types of tactics when you have no plan," he added.

When asked about the legal implications of Musk’s approach, Walz stated, “I’ll let the lawyers decide.”

This interview marked the second recent appearance of the Democratic ticket on The View. In a previous segment, Vice President Kamala Harris introduced a new "Medicare at Home" initiative aimed at assisting seniors with home health aide costs, preventing financial ruin.

Walz, known for his engaging interview style, also made light-hearted comments about Trump, stating, "One nice thing about Trump is that he will not be president again." He advised Republican vice-presidential candidate JD Vance to "just go in and order the chocolate doughnut," referencing an awkward moment from a campaign event.

Walz has been active in media appearances, including upcoming spots on The Daily Show and recent interviews on Fox News Sunday. During his time on The View, he exuded confidence, urging viewers to “choose a future where you’re the center of it, not Donald Trump.”
