Valentina Sampaio Makes History as One of the First Transgender Models to Walk Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

Valentina Sampaio has achieved a historic milestone, becoming one of the first transgender models to grace the runway at the 2024 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. The Brazilian model expressed her excitement and pride in an interview, calling the experience a "dream come true."

Sampaio shared how many doubted her ability to reach such heights in her career. "So many people told me it would be impossible, but I just did it," she said, reflecting on her remarkable achievement. Her participation in the event is not only a personal triumph but also a significant moment for the LGBTQ+ community. She praised Victoria's Secret for its shift toward inclusivity and diversity, acknowledging the brand's decision to embrace models of all backgrounds.

"This is a collective step forward in affirming the rights of my community to live and work with dignity," Sampaio said, highlighting the broader impact of her presence on the runway.

Despite knowing that her groundbreaking moment might invite criticism, Sampaio stood firm, responding to potential backlash with confidence. "We are here. We always have been here. And we always will be here," she declared.

The 2024 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show marked the brand's return after a six-year break and featured an impressive lineup of models, including icons like Tyra Banks, Gigi Hadid, and Alessandra Ambrosio. However, former Victoria’s Secret Angel Gisele Bündchen declined to make a comeback despite receiving an invitation.
