Wizkid Releases New Single ‘Piece of My Heart’ Ahead of Upcoming Album

Nigerian music superstar Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, has unveiled his latest single, “Piece of My Heart,” from his highly anticipated album, Morayo.

Collaborating with American singer-songwriter Brent Faiyaz, the four-minute track showcases a soulful exchange between the two artists. In the song, Faiyaz expresses deep emotions for an unnamed woman, vowing to embark on a lifelong journey together. Wizkid complements this sentiment by singing about the importance of keeping his partner close to experience the warmth of love.

Born on July 16, 1990, in Surulere, Lagos, Wizkid grew up in a polygamous family with a Muslim father and a Christian mother. His musical journey includes the December 2023 release of the Soundman Vol. 2 EP, which features vibrant collaborations with prominent artists such as Wande Coal and Zlatan Ibile.

Wizkid has a rich discography, having released four additional albums: Ayo in 2014, Sound From The Other Side in 2017, Made In Lagos in 2020, and More Love, Less Ego in 2022. His previous work, Soundman Vol. 1, debuted in December 2019.

The talented artist has garnered numerous accolades throughout his career, including a Grammy Award in 2021 for his collaboration with Beyoncé on the hit track “Brown Skin Girl.” Recently, Made In Lagos was recognized as the most streamed Nigerian album on Apple Music, further solidifying Wizkid's status as a leading figure in the global music scene.
