Ademola Lookman Nominated for Serie A Forward of the Year at Gran Galà del Calcio Awards

Nigerian football star Ademola Lookman has earned a nomination for the Serie A Forward of the Year at the prestigious Gran Galà del Calcio Awards.

Lookman, who plays for Atalanta, is set to compete against notable names, including Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram of Inter Milan, as well as Rafael Leao from AC Milan.

In addition to Lookman’s individual recognition, Atalanta has been nominated for Club of the Year, while their manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, is in contention for the Coach of the Year award.

The 27-year-old Lookman showcased exceptional form last season, registering 17 goals and 10 assists in all competitions. His performances were instrumental, including a hat-trick that propelled Atalanta to victory against Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League final.

This season, Lookman has continued his impressive run, scoring eight goals and providing five assists in just 14 appearances across all competitions.

Lookman’s accomplishments extend beyond Serie A. He finished 14th in the 2024 Ballon d’Or rankings and is widely regarded as the favorite to clinch the 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award.

The Gran Galà del Calcio Awards celebrate excellence in Italian football, with winners determined through votes by members of the Italian Players’ Association (AIC). The results will be unveiled during a ceremony on December 2, 2024.

This nomination further cements Lookman’s reputation as one of the most dynamic forwards in European football and highlights his vital role in Atalanta’s success.
