Elon Musk’s Trans Daughter Vows to Leave the United States After Trump’s Re-election

Vivian Jenna Wilson, the 20-year-old estranged daughter of Elon Musk, has announced her decision to leave the United States following the historic re-election of President Donald Trump. This comes after Wilson, who distanced herself from her father in 2022, filed a petition to change her gender and drop Musk's last name.

Wilson, who has been an outspoken critic of her father’s public support for Trump, shared her feelings on social media following the election results. In a post on Threads, she expressed her frustration with the political climate in the U.S. and made it clear that she no longer saw her future in the country.

“I’ve thought this for a while, but yesterday confirmed it for me. I don’t see my future being in the United States,” Wilson wrote, referring to Trump’s re-election. “Even if he’s only in office for 4 years, even if the anti-trans regulations magically don’t happen, the people who willingly voted this in are not going anywhere anytime soon.”

Wilson's decision to sever ties with the U.S. follows her public claims about her relationship with her father. She has previously accused Musk of being an absent parent and expressed her discontent with his lack of acceptance regarding her gender transition.

As one of Musk's six children with his first wife, Justine Wilson, Vivian's departure from both her father’s name and her home country marks a significant moment in her ongoing journey of self-identity and independence.
