Andrew Bisson, a garbage truck driver from Norway, Michigan, recently found himself at the center of a memorable encounter with former U.S. President Donald Trump. The unexpected meeting occurred just days after President Joe Biden referred to Trump’s supporters as "garbage," prompting a strong reaction from Trump.
Bisson, who works for the family-owned LoadMaster garbage service, recalled the surprise he felt when he received a call inviting him to participate in Trump’s rally at the Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport in Wisconsin. “At first, I didn’t really believe it," Bisson told Fox News’ Martha MacCallum. But after speaking with the organizers and realizing the connection, he quickly agreed to bring a truck decked out in Trump and “Make America Great Again” stickers to the rally.
At the event, Trump seized the moment to playfully respond to Biden’s comment. Donning an orange workman’s vest, he climbed aboard Bisson's truck, joking with reporters, “How do you like my garbage truck? This is in honor of Kamala and Joe Biden.”
The lighthearted moment continued when Trump asked Bisson for a quick ride. Bisson, recalling the excitement, said, “I started up the truck, blew the air horn, and Trump asked if I could take him for a ride. I started moving, but after a foot or two, the Secret Service quickly intervened.”
This unusual rally moment followed President Biden's remark in response to a joke made by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who described Puerto Rico as "a floating island of garbage" during a rally last week. Trump firmly responded to Biden’s comments, defending his record on Puerto Rico, particularly during Hurricane Maria. “Nobody has done more for Puerto Rico than me. I took care of them when they had the big hurricanes. They love me, and I love them,” he said.
When asked about Hinchcliffe’s controversial joke, Trump clarified that he wasn’t familiar with the comedian, adding, “He’s a comedian. What can I tell you?”
The rally and garbage truck moment underscored Trump’s sharp response to Biden’s remarks, transforming the comment into a rallying point for his supporters.
