NBA legend LeBron James has officially announced his endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris for president as the 2024 U.S. election approaches. The Lakers star expressed his support on social media, emphasizing his concerns for the future of his family and the nation’s direction.
In a post shared Thursday night on X, formerly Twitter, James shared a video highlighting controversial remarks by former President Donald Trump. “What are we even talking about here?? When I think about my kids and my family and how they will grow up, the choice is clear to me. VOTE KAMALA HARRIS!!!” James wrote passionately.
James is not alone in the NBA community in endorsing Harris. Fellow NBA star Steph Curry and Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr have also voiced support for Harris this year. Curry appeared in a video at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, where he praised the sense of unity experienced during his time with Team USA. “Winning that gold medal at the Olympics this summer reminded us of the power of unity on and off the court,” Curry said, connecting this spirit to Harris's vision for the nation.
Kerr, meanwhile, took to the stage at the United Center, delivering a speech in support of Harris. Both Curry and Kerr expressed confidence in Harris's potential to bring Americans together and lead the country forward.
