George W. Bush Breaks Silence, Congratulates Trump on Presidential Victory

Former U.S. President George W. Bush has ended his silence on the recent presidential election, offering his congratulations to Donald Trump following Trump's win. Bush, 78, had previously avoided public endorsement of either candidate, a choice that led to criticism. Before Election Day, Bush’s team clarified his focus was on securing GOP control of the Senate rather than taking a stance on the presidential race.

On Wednesday, November 6, Bush posted a message on Instagram, officially congratulating Trump on becoming the 47th President of the United States, along with his Vice President-elect, J.D. Vance. He also extended his gratitude to outgoing President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for their years of service, expressing appreciation for the dedication of election officials, poll workers, and volunteers who ensured a fair election process.

“The strong turnout in this election is a sign of the health of our republic and the strength of our democratic institutions,” Bush wrote. “Laura and I are grateful to the election officials, poll workers, and volunteers who oversaw a free and fair election.”

Bush concluded his statement by joining other Americans in prayers for the success of newly elected leaders, underscoring his hopes for a prosperous path forward for the nation. "May God continue to bless our great country," he added, expressing his optimism for the future.
