Ghana’s President, Nana Akufo-Addo, has unveiled a statue of himself at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in Sekondi, located in the Western Region of Ghana. The golden statue was unveiled on Wednesday, November 6, during a tour of the region.
The unveiling, which came as a surprise to the president, was organized by the Chief, Elders, and people of the Western Region. They invited Akufo-Addo to a special ceremony at the hospital to honor his contributions to the region's development.
Regional Minister Kwabena Darko-Mensah led the unveiling and took the opportunity to commend the president for his administration’s efforts in advancing major projects in the area, including the launch of the petroleum hub project in Western Nzema.
The statue unveiling is seen as a recognition of Akufo-Addo’s leadership and his government’s developmental initiatives in the Western Region. This event takes place just months before Akufo-Addo concludes his second term in office.
