In a shocking revelation in her new Amazon Prime documentary, "In Her Words," rapper Megan Thee Stallion has admitted to lying to journalist Gayle King about her sexual relationship with Tory Lanez. During the documentary, Megan candidly expressed her frustration, stating, “Yes, btch. I lied to Gayle King, btch. First of all, I didn’t know that b*tch was even gonna ask me about that s**t. I thought we was gonna talk about this shooting.”
Megan's admission marks a significant moment in her ongoing saga with Lanez, who was convicted of shooting her in the foot in July 2020. In their April 2022 interview on "CBS Mornings," Megan, 29, had told King that she and Lanez, 32, were not in a romantic relationship but rather close friends. When asked directly about the nature of their relationship, Megan denied any sexual involvement, saying, “I didn’t have a sexual relationship with Tory.”
However, in her documentary, she clarified, “Even if I was ... I fked that n*a like once, maybe twice on a drunk night. You kept catching me out of my f**king mind.” She expressed her belief that Lanez was trying to divert attention from his actions by suggesting they were intimate.
Following her confession, Ceasar McDowell, CEO of Unite the People, the nonprofit law firm representing Lanez, responded to Megan's admission, asserting that it undermines her credibility as a witness. “The fact that Megan lied about her sexual relationship with Tory obviously makes her an unreliable witness. If someone lies in front of millions of people, how can you trust what they say any other time?” McDowell stated.
Tory Lanez, born Daystar Shemuel Shua Peterson, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in August 2023 for the shooting incident. Despite his conviction, Lanez has consistently maintained his innocence, stating in an Instagram post, “I have never let a hard time intimidate me. I will never let no jail time eliminate me. Regardless of how they spin my words, I have always maintained my innocence, and I always will.”
