Olajumoke Onibread Accuses Ex-Husband of Domestic Abuse and Career Sabotage

Former bread seller turned model Olajumoke Orisaguna, popularly known as Olajumoke Onibread, has opened up about her harrowing experience with domestic violence, accusing her ex-husband, Sunday Orisaguna, of abuse and for contributing to the decline of her career.

In an interview with City FM, the model shared the challenges she faced during her marriage, describing a toxic environment in which her mother-in-law’s hostility and her husband’s physical assaults were routine.

Olajumoke revealed that she lived with her ex-husband in his family home in Ire, Osun State, where she endured constant mistreatment.

“Whenever I had misunderstandings with his mother, he would beat me until my face and body were swollen. Sometimes, he even used a belt,” she said.

The model explained that her ex-husband blindly sided with his mother and disregarded her perspective. Despite the abuse, she initially concealed her suffering to avoid involving her own mother, who had discouraged the marriage from the start.

The turning point came in January 2016 when an altercation with her ex-husband’s sister escalated into yet another instance of physical violence.

“I decided that I was going to leave and move to Lagos to start working at the bakery again. Three days later, I packed my belongings and brought my two children with me,” she recounted.

Olajumoke said her decision to leave was supported by friends who had previously warned her about the relationship.

Since her separation from Sunday, Olajumoke alleged that her ex-husband actively tarnished her reputation, which contributed to the downturn of her career.

“It has been almost four years since we separated. Everything started going down after that because he began spoiling my name,” she lamented.

Olajumoke shot to fame in 2016 when she unintentionally walked into a photoshoot featuring British rapper Tinie Tempah, captured by renowned photographer TY Bello. The serendipitous moment launched her into the limelight, earning her modeling contracts and widespread admiration.

However, her story serves as a stark reminder of the challenges many women face behind closed doors, even amid public success.
