At a high-energy rally in Philadelphia supporting Vice President Kamala Harris, Oprah Winfrey urged Americans to vote in what she called a crucial election, warning that “this could be the final election if Donald Trump wins.” Speaking to a crowd late Monday, Winfrey emphasized the stakes, saying, “If we don’t show up tomorrow, it is entirely possible that we will not have the opportunity to ever cast a ballot again.” She added that voters must choose “healing over hate” by supporting Harris.
The rally, featuring several high-profile entertainers including Lady Gaga, Fat Joe, Ricky Martin, Will.i.am, and The Roots, brought together a powerful show of support for Harris. Lady Gaga also addressed the crowd, dedicating her vote to “the tough, tenacious women” who shaped her and encouraging Pennsylvanians to cast ballots for unity and inclusion.
Bronx-born rapper Fat Joe took the stage with a strong message for the Latino community, criticizing Trump’s treatment of Puerto Ricans, Haitians, and Mexican-Americans. He reminded the crowd of Trump’s controversial actions, like tossing paper towels to Puerto Ricans after Hurricane Maria and allegedly disparaging Haitians. “Where is your pride? When is enough enough?” Fat Joe asked, rallying the crowd on Philadelphia’s iconic “Rocky Steps.”
Fat Joe further expressed disappointment over divisive rhetoric he said had been used against Puerto Ricans, Mexicans, and other communities, emphasizing, “This is about pride.” His call resonated with many in the crowd, who responded with cheers of unity and solidarity.
The rally, combining celebrity star power and passionate political messages, underscored the urgency felt by Winfrey and others who voiced concerns about preserving democratic values in the upcoming election.
