Austin Eguavoen, interim coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, has released a 23-man roster for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Rwanda and Benin.
The lineup notably includes strikers Victor Osimhen and Sadiq Umar, both of whom missed previous matches, as Nigeria aims to secure a spot in the next AFCON tournament set to take place in Morocco.
The Super Eagles currently lead Group D with 10 points, thanks to a strong performance that included two victories over Libya. They now need only a point to confirm their qualification for the tournament.
The full squad list includes:
- Goalkeepers: Stanley Nwabali, Maduka Okoye, Amas Obasogie
- Defenders: Bright Osayi-Samuel, Calvin Bassey, William Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, Bruno Onyemeachi, Gabriel Osho, Victor Collins
- Midfielders: Alex Iwobi, Frank Onyeka, Raphael Onyedika, Wilfred Ndidi, Alhassan Yusuf, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru
- Forwards: Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Victor Osimhen, Moses Simon, Kelechi Iheanacho, Victor Boniface, Umar Sadiq
Nigeria will face Benin on November 14, followed by a home game against Rwanda in Uyo on November 18. The team hopes to seal its AFCON qualification with these decisive matches.
